Red patches over the underarms is a very vague term because there can be many many causes for this namely infection such as bacterial infections very important one is erythrasma or even just a basic bacterial infection. It can cause by fungal infections such as Candidiasis, it can be caused by viral infections like shingles, so it important to diagnose if it is infection. Secondly it can be infestation where small insect such as a myth can cause scabies, lies can cause rashes in that area because of irritation and repeated bites. Other causes can be irritants to that area such as products that you apply Deodorant, moisturizer etc and is kept there for a long. of time, so do be careful. And another cause hydrolytic seperativa which is blockage of certain glands and is associated with pain and oozing puss. Shaving and waxing of the area can also lead to persistent redness. All these causes has to be addressed by a doctor because diagnose is very much essential for the treatment. Don’t try anything on your own because each diagnose has different treatment. Especially when it comes to children the usual infections are fungal or bacterial infection.
