Struggling with eye eczema?
Eye eczema (aka eyelid dermatitis) is common, and you really want to ensure you’re doing everything RIGHT or it will worsen.
If you’re dealing with dry, flaky, itchy eyelids, here’s what actually helps:
1. Use fragrance-free products
2. Gentle cleansers
3. Stop actives near the eye (retinoids, acids, benzoyl peroxide)
4. Apply a bland moisturizer or petrolatum (recommendations in video has helped me tremendously!)
5. Haircare products like shampoos and conditioners can run down your face and cause a flare up
6. Laundry detergents can be the silent culprit — people think because it’s not on the body, it isn’t related to detergents
Most eyelid eczema is triggered by irritants, allergic contact dermatitis, or atopic dermatitis.
Barrier repair is KEY!
