How I GOT RID of Cholinergic Urticaria! ✄

***Everyone’s bodies are built differently. If you have a medical concern, consult a doctor.***

Filmed on April 1, 2015. Hello all, I recently had a follow up appointment for my CU and let me tell you, my results are a lot better from the medication I was prescribed by my allergist. Currently I’m taking desloratadine and it works, I haven’t had an outbreak since I’ve been taking it!!! I’m incredibly happy!!! I also take hydroxyzine before I work out, but it causes drowsiness. I tested the medications by taking one alone, and desloratadine works better by itself, at least for me.

However, everybody’s body is different, and different medications may work better/not so good on others. It’s best to see a doctor, dermatologist, or an allergist so they can help you.

***Medications I’ve taken for CU and my experience:

Desloratadine (CLARINEX): This medication works for me. It does not cause drowsiness and I take this medication alone.

Hydroxyzine (VISTARIL, ATARAX): This medication works for me. It causes drowsiness, so I usually take it before I work out or go to sleep.

Diphenhydramine (BENADRYL): This medication worked for me temporarily, but it caused drowsiness and it eventually stopped working for me after a few weeks.

Cetirizine (ZYRTEC, ALLEROFF): This medication did not work for me.

Loratadine (CLARITIN): This medication did not work for me.
