La Roche Posay Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel Cleanser:

La Roche Posay Effaclar Foaming Gel markets this cleanser as an ideal cleanser for those with sensitive acne prone skin.
However, as we break down the ingredients, the actual ingredients may not be suitable for those with truly reactive, sensitive skin. For example, the 2nd ingredient listed is a sulfate that is commonly known to increase sensitivity or for some skin types may trigger skin conditions such as contact dermatitis.
It also does list (parfum) fragrance. For some sensitive skin types, may also increase skin sensitivities, especially when using other acne treatment ingredients such as benzoyl peroxide, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, or any retinoids.

This review on the La Roche Posay Effaclar Foaming Gel Product review is based on the US ingredients list as on this filming.
La Roche Posay may change their ingredients list of this cleanser.

For sensitive acne prone skin, a recommendation of a more gentle formulation was offered.

For example, instead of sulphates, looking for a coconut based surfactant or a sugar based surfactant may be better depending on the individuals skin condition.
A fragrance FREE option may be a more optimal option for those with more sensitive skin.
