It can be easy to feel defeated when you compare your progress to someone else with eczema who is healing at a faster rate than you. But comparisons between two people with eczema are rarely fair because each person is an individual with their own set of genetics, pre-dispositions, on-set circumstances, triggers, allergies, patterns, emotional capacities, resilience, etc. and they all affect our eczema. Just because yours may take more time doesn’t mean you’re worse off. One person may just have a more acute condition and yours may be more chronic and requires different types of approaches to heal. Either way, the longer you have it, the longer you have to learn from it and about it and that will make you the wiser. It all varies and depends and that’s okay. Stick to your journey and your progress and remember to acknowledge your landmarks and transitions and the things that are working!
