Step 1 in colour analysis for finding your perfect colours for foundations, hair, makeup and wardrobe colours is finding your correct undertone. Once you find your undertone, you would move on to find out what value and intensity of colours add to your sparkle. For foundations, once you know your undertone you would then find a foundation with that undertone that is a match to your surface colouring (which may mean blending a few different foundations together to get an exact match to your colouring, it may take some trial and error). Your best colours for hair, makeup, clothing and accessories will harmonize with your undertone. Valid undertones for humans are cool, warm, neutral, neutral-cool, neutral-warm. Olive is a surface colouring that may appear when your undertone mixes with other surface colourings on your skin.
