The most common reasons behind itchy feet are dry skin and overly moist feet. Although red, cracked and painful blistered feet needs medical attention, fortunately, the most common causes of itchy feet can be treated at home using some simple natural remedies. So try out this natural home remedies to bring relief t your itchy feet in no time.

Here are the home remedies for itchy feet.

1.Cool Water therapy
Cool water is soothing to irritated, itchy skin. Cool water soaking can bring immediate relief from itchiness. The cold temperature also helps numb the area, which in turn helps reduce the itching sensation.
Soak your feet in cool water, or place a cool wet cloth against the itchy areas of your feet. You can do this daily, or even several times daily.

2. Salt Water Soak
Salt controls the growth of the microbes causing any kind of foot infection, and in turn reduces itching and other discomforts. A saltwater soak can soothe painful itching and tired feet.

Stir 2 teaspoons of salt into 1 pint of warm water.
Pour the mixture into a shallow pan or foot tub.
Immerse your feet in the solution and keep it for 10 minutes.
Repeat the process a few times a day

Caution: Do not use salt remedies if you have any skin tears or open sores.

3. Apple Cider Vinegar
The acidic nature of Apple Cider Vinegar helps kill fungi and bacteria that can be responsible for itchiness on your feet. It also helps restore the natural pH balance of your skin.
Mix 1 part raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar with 3 parts warm water in a small tub or a bucket. Soak your feet in it for 15 minutes. Then pat them dry. Follow this twice every day for 1 week or so.

You can also drink 2 teaspoons of raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar to a glass of warm water to cure it from within. Drink it twice daily.
4. Baking Soda
Baking soda has anti-inflammatory properties that can help soothe and heal itchy feet. It also helps balance pH levels on your skin.

Mix 2 spoonfuls of water and 1 spoonful of baking soda to make a paste. Apply this paste on your feet thoroughly, including on the crevices. Leave the paste on for 10 minutes and wash off with cold water. Pat your feet dry with a soft towel. Do this once daily.
Caution: Do not use baking soda on broken skin or open wounds.

5. Aloe Vera
Aloe vera contains anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antifungal properties. Also, it naturally moisturises the skin and in turn reduces itchiness. Aloe vera is best for treating itchy feet caused by extremely dry skin and scabies.

Cut open an aloe vera leaf and extract the gel. Apply the gel on the itchy area of your feet. Leave it on for 15 minutes, then rinse it off with lukewarm water. Use this remedy once daily.

6. Tea Tree Oil
Tea Tree oil has strong antiseptic and antifungal properties that help fight the root cause behind the fungal infection and stop the itchiness.

Mix equal amounts tea tree oil and olive oil. Rub the mixture on your itchy feet. Leave it on for 30 minutes and then rinse it off. Do this twice daily.

You can also mix a few drops of tea tree oil with 1 tablespoon of aloe vera gel and Rub it on the infected area. Let the mixture sit on your skin for 20 minutes before you rinse it off. Do this twice a day.

7. Indian Lilac/Neem
Indian lilac or Neem has antiseptic properties help fight the yeast infection and reduce itching and other discomforts.
Boil a handful of neem leaves in 4 cups of water. Strain and allow it to cool. Use this solution to wash your feet, 2 or 3 times a daily.
