Going into fight-or-flight and releasing stress hormones into the blood stream are major causes of acne and eczema flare ups.
When you release stress hormones, two things cause your skin to become less healthy:
1. Your cells that produce sebum, an oil that mixes with dead skin cells and bacteria to clog hair follicles. This can cause a pimple or cyst to form.
2. When you release stress hormones, your body’s cells cannot utilize nutrients very well. So even though you may be eating good food choices and putting creams on your skin, your skin cells are not able to use these nutrients properly.
