Penile discolouration or change in colour in the area around the penis or scrotum could be because of various reasons. It could be with a history of eczema or dermatitis or it could also be because of the fact that you have had a history of fungal infection and you can treat it conservatively with ointments and there could be some discolouration. And also in some cases a small amount of discolouration in the form of vitiligo of the skin. Well, whatever the cause is, it has to be taken notice, brought to the notice of the doctor and see what exactly it is and get it treated. I don’t think it should be of any concern if it is not itching or irritating. If it is treated already with some medication and it is cured. In many cases, if there was a history of eczema or dermatitis and if any ointments are given like steroidal ointment, could create a little amount of discomfort or discolouration which in a matter of a period of time would get back its normal colour. But if it is a vitiligo, its because of melanin deficiency and it has to be treated differently, for which you have to see a doctor and get it treated, right. Discoloration in the area of the penis or the scrotum, it could be because of various reasons. It could be because of the history the person has had in the form of eczema or dermatitis which has already been treated with steroidal ointments. Sometimes with steroidal ointments there can be some discolouration which over a period of time, you get back the colour. It could be also be because of some fungal infection. Well, if it is because of some fungal infection, please get it treat it with anti fungals or see a doctor and in some cases it is also seen that it could also be because of a condition called as vitiligo. In some small percentage of cases, wherein there is discoloration of skin because of some melanin loss. It has to be treated separately, nevertheless if you have no other discomfort, nothing to worry, it can be treated easily. Don’t get scared about it. Please go and see your doctor and get it treated.
