What can cause blisters near corner of mouth? – Dr. Srivats Bharadwaj

Lot of people have blisters in the corners of the mouth. One of the commonest causes is where vertical height of the jaw is reduced causing sagging, and then the saliva drips through the night or while speaking. We find this condition most importantly in adults or senior citizens because they would have lost teeth and would not have replaced them causing angular chelitis. Angular chelitis is where you will have the burning sensation around the corners of the lip. It can get worse if you don’t attend to it. So it is imperative that you visit your dentist, get your dentures replaced or if you don’t have one, get them made so that you don’t up with these issues.
