Lovers, Dating and Relationships–with Eczema!  Who woulda thunk this rashy gal would ever be able to experience love, romance, or even have a sex life?!  I know I didn’t! lol.  And I find that many people with eczema, especially newbies to the TSW game, don’t either.  And it’s very sad and very false.
I’ve always been a long-term thinker and the type to take the long-view of a situation, so believe or not, I have always been upfront about having eczema while dating.  And it didn’t stop other people from pursuing me or keeping me even when I would flareup, getting super itchy and uncomfortable, and have open, oozing, bleeding wounds.  Someone who truly loves you and cares for you will feel bad for you and want to help comfort you and help you heal.  They’re not going to ditch you the moment you show imperfections, whether or not it’s skin-related.

This was a huge lesson for me to learn over the years and after 6 long-term relationships, I can only say that now I have confidence that when someone’s dating me and especially if they’ve chosen to be in a relationship with me that they are attracted to more than my appearance and that is enduring love, that is true and genuine love.  And it is possible to date, to be in a relationship, and to marry with eczema (I’ve never been married, but they are plenty of other people here on Instagram who have and still have eczema and it’s all good!)

So, if you’re new to eczema and you want to date or you’re new to dating in general, know that your limitations are only as real as you think they are.  But in reality, there are no limitations to the love, romance, and joy you can experience in intimately connecting with another human being.  You don’t have to be perfect to be beautiful or lovable.  So enjoy the love!  Share the love!  Receive the love from others!
