Buttocks are one of the areas that develop boils or painful bumps. Boils are usually due to infection in the hair root called as folliculitis, which is the commonest cause for painful bumps in the buttocks. Another commonest cause is the crack in the buttocks in the midline, it is called as Pilonidal Cyst or Pilonidal Sinus or Pilonidal Abscess if it gets infected.
