Welcome! This week we are going into a more specific, idiosyncratic topic related to eczema which is “Does environment or skincare affect eczema more?”

I explain everything in the video, but essentially this is a topic I’ve thought about a lot and recently had a group discussion on Instagram about which external affects eczema more deeply?

On one hand, there are certain environments that our skin favors more than others. But on the other, we may not necessarily want to move to another city/state/country to save our skin–and our bank accounts on tons of skincare products to compensate for what we’re lacking in our skin type wherever we happen to be living.

I think this question was brought up to see if there could be a certain magical combination of skincare products that could fortify your skin despite the environment being a trigger/factor in making rashes worse. And after solo traveling for a year to different countries with different climates during different seasons, hands down environment trumps skincare. At least as far as I know. I do hope to one day learn how to formulate my own organic skincare line and create cosmetics that really will protect your skin despite changing or unfavorable environments while traveling or transitioning to a new home. But until that day arrives, I have to say that if you’re in the wrong environment and season for your skin, purchasing and using the amount of skincare that you need to survive the elements is definitely going to increase and get very spensy.

I thought this was an interesting, specific topic to discuss and would love to hear from other people with eczema or skin specialists/aestheticians/people who work with skin successfully weight in on this topic. I am only one perspective and would love to get a more complete picture of this topic from learning from others’ experiences as well.

Thank you for watching and I’ll see you in the next video!
