Description:
Synalar cream and ointment belongs to a group of medicines called steroids. This means that they are useful for certain inflammatory conditions of the skin.
Indications:
Synalar cream and ointment are used to treat certain inflammatory, itchy or allergic skin condition such as eczema, dermatitis, prurigo, psoriasis, lichen planus and discoid lupus erythematosus.
Contraindications:
Where infection is the main cause of the skin problem.
For acne, nappy rash, itchiness around the anal or genital area.
Askin condition on the face called rosacea.
On children under the age of one year
breast-feeding, do not apply to the breast prior to nursing
The medicine is only for you and must never be used by anyone else.
Synalar Cream and ointment should be kept away from the eyes. If using Synalar Cream or ointment on the face or on children (over the age of 1 year) do not use for more than 5 days.
Your doctor will tell you if your treatment should be longer than this. Waterproof dressings should be used for children or for the face and only in adults if your doctor tells you. The affected area should be thoroughly cleaned before putting on a waterproof dressing. Ask your doctor for instructions.

Synalar Cream and ointment are not normally used to treat widespread psorias,is since it is possible that the psoriasis may get worse, and any side effects may be more likely.

If you go into hospital let the medical staff know that you are using Synalar Cream or Synalar ointment.
