Better to avoid sunlight from 10 to 4, 10 am to 4 pm and use a good sunscreen which will have a long lasting effect like it should be correctly applied like half an hour before going out and preferably every third to fourth hourly. People going to pools and who sweat more can use water proof sunscreens. The second thing is the application of medications. There are various levels how to apply the medications. The first and the foremost layer after facewash is a good moisturizer. On the top of it any hypopigmenting agents. The sunscreen should be the superficial layer just before the compact or any talcum powder. This is the method of application of creams in patients with pigmentation of the face.especially with melasma. The other tip is take Vitamin C rich food like which contains more of Vitamin C like orange, tomato, gooseberry and lemon, tamarind, something which has Vitamin C rich food. Vitamin C is very good for getting the colour back. One more tip for preventing or treating melasma is apart from using sunscreen is usageof broad rimmed hat as well as black umbrellas. So, better to cover yourself while going out by either through full covered dress or by using umbrellas.
