How to differentiate between flu and Covid? Most of the time we treat it like syndrome earlier flu we use to see it is self-limiting. We will see for first 48 to 72 hours how exactly the tempo of the disease go. If he is young patient who doesn’t have any comorbidities, is a non-obese patient and doesn’t have other risk factors like diabetes, hypertension, previous cancer survivor or anything, vaccinated or unvaccinated first 48 hours most of the time they may get high grade fever with chills and rigor. That time they take paracetamol and they can manage with symptomatic medications. The symptoms goes off and most of the times it settles without any medication. Very rarely it may persist for more than 48-72 hours. Fever is ongoing, sometimes it can go with BP going low and they may come with syncopal attack. They may feel giddy, excessive sweating, asthenia, dehydration those patients who require hospitalization. These are the patients who have hypoxia, borderline saturations and who require admission, especially the severe illness patients we test for flu which is throat swab like H1N1 swab.
