Baby position in the womb has a big effect on how labor unfolds. So, as you’re thinking about how to have a baby, you should be thinking about what you’re doing right now, in pregnancy!

Back labor can be challenging and uncomfortable, especially when baby is occiput posterior commonly known as a sunny side up baby. With a posterior baby, back labor often becomes the hardest part about giving birth. Labour pain can increase because of how baby is trying to fit through the pelvis.

There are multiple techniques I bring into birth to support baby’s position in mama’s body, one of them, Spinning Babies (birth workers, check them out!). But one thing YOU can do as a pregnant mama as you are preparing for birth, is to be mindful of posture! It seems small, but a little over a long time (9 months) adds up!
