All too often we hear from our clients that they 100% have #rosacea, #eczema, or #psoriasis when in reality they are probably having a fungal or bacterial reaction to a product that their skin doesn’t like.
WebMD is a great place to go for figuring one thing for sure out, that everything leads to cancer. We’re kidding, but it is the stereotype of the website despite there being a lot of actually good information on there. We bring this up because all too often clients will go and input their symptoms online and come to us with a print out or a hard and fast belief that they absolutely have xyz #skinissue. Well, there’s a reason these clients come to us, and there’s a reason we have been in business for as long as we have. We are professional #estheticians that deal with skin on a daily basis. We have seen true rosacea and eczema and we have seen symptoms that resemble it. More often than not, the clients that have these issues actually have symptoms but not the actual condition.
When you go to a doctor, you’re likely going to be asked a similar series of questions that WebMD asked upon entry to the site. There’s nothing wrong with this! It’s what doctors are there for and they’re doing their job absolutely correctly. We are estheticians not doctors and we don’t claim to be medically licensed. But the part we don’t like is that the doctor will often give you a script for a very powerful acne medication when in all reality you’re probably wearing too much #foundation, not using the right products, or are too infrequently #cleansing!
