Eczema is a chronic allergic reaction that causes inflammation of the skin and is very common in adults as well as children. It presents itself as a rash that affects many areas of the body including the face, scalp, inner creases of the elbows, as well as behind the knees. Eczema can be related to stress but also toxin release through our largest organ, the skin!

Diet is very important when doing Eczema treatment, our skin can sometimes present symptoms as to what is going on internally. Dr. Bowring recommends dietary tips to help reduce inflammation and combat this common inflammatory condition. These tips include decreasing inflammatory causing foods such as processed sugar, wheat, dairy, corn, and citrus products. These products all increase the inflammatory response in the body and we want to decrease those foods as much as possible. It is definitely recommended to increase your intake of fresh fruits and vegetables daily. It is also very important and recommended to increase your water intake, which helps to detoxify the built up toxins and of course hydrate the body so that it can function optimally. At least eight glasses or 2 liters of water daily is definitely encouraged.
Another great tip is to supply the body with Omega 3’s, which are natural anti-inflammatories. A great source of Omega 3’s would include chia seeds, hemp seeds as well as a natural Omega 3 supplement.

Decrease your stress! Stress is another factor to take into consideration. Stress has a lot to do with eczema and can cause it to flare up and/or get worse. Yikes!
Simple ways to distress would be deep breathing exercises, meditation, yoga, and tai chi can really help decrease stress levels.

Detoxification is also very important, to remove all the built up toxins from the internal organs.
