Diarrhea (Diarrhoea):

• Diarrhea is a condition in which the patient passes stool multiple times a day
• It is a common digestive problem
• It is usually referred to as loose motions

Symptoms to look for:

• Uncontrollable bowel movements
• Frequent passage of loose and watery stool
• Abdominal cramps
• Stomach pain
• Blood in stools which leads to reddish or black stools

If ignored, diarrhoea leads to

• Dehydration
• Thirst
• Dry mouth

Causes:

• Viral or bacterial infections
• It may be a result of intestinal disorders like,
o Celiac disease
o Inflammatory bowel disease
• Body’s reaction to certain food items or medicines, especially antacids
• The body is unable to absorb water which comes as part of diet, leading to frequent excretions

Natural home remedy using lemon juice, ginger paste and black pepper:

1. Take 2 tsp of lemon juice
2. Add ½ tsp of ginger paste
3. Add a pinch of black pepper
4. Mix well
5. Consume 2 times a day

Natural home remedy using cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds and yogurt:

1. Take 2 tsp of cumin seeds
2. Add 2 tsp of fenugreek seeds
3. Roast the mixture
4. Crush the mixture to make a powder
5. Take 4 tsp of this mixture
6. Add to a bowl of yoghurt
7. Mix well
8. Consume this 3 times a day

Tips:

• When travelling, drink only bottled mineral water
• Avoid eating
o Outside food
o Uncooked vegetables
o Peeled and stored fruits
