Baby Massage: (For Head & Face)

Week 4 of this 5 week free online baby massage course focuses on how to massage the head and face. This is a lovely routine to continue the full body massage course, it is important to follow the full 5 week course to allow your baby to get used to being massaged and give you confidence as a parent.

The benefits of baby massage for both parent and baby are undeniable; numerous medical practitioners around the world support and encourage it. This 5-week infant massage course allows all parents the chance to give their newborn babies the best start in life in the comfort of their own home.

If you have the opportunity to attend a local course, I would definitely recommend it as not only do you receive the opportunity to ask questions, learn about baby cues and get feedback about your massage technique you also receive emotional support from a group of mums (and sometimes dads too) going through the same thing at the same time as you. It also can help to build a sense of community and connection to other people.

What oil should I use?
I would recommend this amazing baby oil suitable for newborn and upwards, it is suitable for sensitive skin, suitable for people who may be prone to eczema, dermatologist and paediatrician approved, registered with The Vegan Society and certified by Cruelty Free International

My intension for this free online 5-week baby massage course is that baby massage is accessible to everyone including those who do not live in areas where there are baby massage classes. In my experience of teaching baby massage to groups is that sometimes life takes over – your baby hasn’t slept well, or is unwell and you have to miss a class. But now you can watch the course online for free. It isn’t the same experience, but it has its own benefits.

You can watch the full baby massage 5 week course on my playlist here:

Carrying a baby is hard work – even for the fittest parent! So it is important to look after yourself and have a little stretch from time to time. It can be hard to stick to a routine when having a baby and therefore difficult to get to a class, I have a number of 10-15 minute yoga classes on my YouTube channel which you can easily fit into your daily routine, why not start with my beginner morning yoga routine and see how you get on:

If you would like to extend this yoga class, I would recommend starting the class with one of my guided breathing exercises;
• Yoga Breathing for Beginners video:
• Yoga Breathing Exercise To Deepen the Breath (Day 16)
• Alternative Nostril Breathing (Day 20)

If you have time I would recommend finishing with one of my guided meditation classes;
• Meditation (for Stress and Anxiety)
• Progressive Muscle Relaxation
• Guided Meditation for Grounding (Day 27)
