Pityrosporum Folliculitis aka “Fungal Acne” appears as skin colored papules that are very uniform in appearance (all the same size and shape). This differs from traditional acne which can appear in various different stages. You may see blackheads, whiteheads aka open or closed comedones, papules or cyst present at the same time.
It is important to get an accurate diagnosis from a dermatologist if you are unsure of your condition because using the wrong treatment can worsen the condition.
