Product Empties #1 – Best Skin Prep & Foundation for Eczema Sufferers!

PRODUCT EMPTIES #1 –
Elemis SOS Cream, Murad Invisiblur Perfecting Shield, Sarah McNamara

I don’t know how it got to be that I acquired so many (so many!) beauty products. Anyways, the principles of Mari Kondo (see link below), inspired me to start cleaning up around here. So, I’ve decided that I’m going to start using these up and then only buy product as I use them up. There won’t be any back inventory waiting for me. Crazy, I know. I also know myself well enough that if I allow myself to buy things before I need them/ run out of them, then I’ll start the whole process of crazy all over again. Now, that I’ve worked so hard on my purging I don’t want to go back there again. In any case, through this process of using my products up, there’s been three (3) standouts that were game changers that I will definitely buy again.

Elemis SOS Cream – Pure. Liquid. Gold. It goes on really well and feels like velvet on your irritated skin. I started out using this when I was having a bout with eczema, but it kept my skin looking so great, I never stopped using it till the bottle ran out. It really calmed my red skin and just made it feel less angry and irritated. More than I usually spend, but worth every single penny. In a zombie apocalypse situation, I’m grabbing this. It’s that good.

Murad Invisiblur Perfecting Shield – I like this because it’s a time saver. It combines my primer and sunscreen in one step and it dries super fast to boot. With eczema, it’s always a fine line between putting enough product and putting too much so I love that this does double duty. Plus, it really does work to blur / fill in the fine lines from eczema, giving your skin an overall smoother appearance.

Sara McNamara Miracle Skin Transformer – This is a 5 in 1 product: hydrate, prime, mattify, enhance and protect. Since, I’m already using primer and sunscreen (see above) and I mix this with one drop of moisturizer, I’m really only using the mattify and enhance features (aka, foundation). However, I love how well it mixes with my moisturizer and how natural the look is. It’s just a better version of you, not a face full of makeup. It covers my redness and my blemishes with a sheer, not full, coverage. It does not irritate my eczema at all, though if I’m really having a breakout, I’ll try to go lighter on this and heavier on the moisturizer. They do say that it’s buildable coverage, but I’ve found if I put too much on, it just comes across as too much makeup. So, for me, I love it for natural sheer coverage that’s idiot proof to put on (esp., when you mix it with your moisturizer!) and works with my uber sensitive skin.
