Babies with dry and itchiness over the cheeks in winter is most likely to be winter dermatitis or it is likely to be early atopic dermatitis. Early atopic dermatitis, if there is a family history of asthma, wheeze or atopic dermatitis in either parents or grandparents, those kids are more prone for early atopic dermatitis where it presents as dryness and itchiness over the cheeks. Coming to the treatment part, give a short quick lukewarm bath and immediately after a bath apply moisturizer. So a moisturizer can be used 2 to 3 times a day. So dryness and itchiness if it is not responding, a mild topical steroid can be helpful. Along with that trim the nails. On the cheek if you feel dryness and itching is more oral antihistamines will be helpful.
