allergic dermatitis or eczema cause, symptoms and treatment



allergic dermatitis is a very common skin allergy which is more common in young babies and kids. but also occur in teenagers. it is first seen around the age of 3-6 months. allergic dermatitis causes the skin to become dry and very itchy. the skin is very itchy and leads to the skin becoming thickened over time. sometime in allergic dermatitis the skin becomes red, swollen and crusty that may leak fluid if scratched.allergic dermatitis is diagnosed on child’s symptoms and health history. there is no specific test for allergic dermatitis.
sometimes investigation are required if allergies are suspected.
skin prick test or blood allergy tests might be required in such situations.
the goal of treatment of allergic dermatitis or eczema are to hydrate the skin, reduce itching and inflammation and prevent infection,this includes preventing triggers and daily use of moisturing creams. some childrens with flares of allergic dermatitis will require corticosteroid creams.
