👉🏼Day 6 of Prednisone: The fire is finally out. 💨
​I wanted to give you all an update because the support on my first post was overwhelming. I’m on day six of the Prednisone, and for the first time in many weeks. .. my skin is actually calm.
​The angry, red “sandpaper” patches under my eyes have smoothed out, and that painful, throbbing inflammation around my chin has finally subsided. I can actually move my face without feeling like my skin is going to snap. It’s a relief I can’t even put into words.
​But here is the reality check: I know this isn’t a “cure.”
​Prednisone is like calling the fire department—they put out the flames, but now I’m standing in the middle of a house that still needs a lot of repair. My skin barrier is still incredibly fragile, and I know that once I finish this course, my hormones will still be doing their thing.
​My mission now? Rebuilding. 🏗️
​Now that the inflammation is down, I’m hyper-focused on slowly introducing the right nutrients back into my skin without triggering another “alarm.” No more “kitchen sink” routines—just pure, barrier support to seal everything back up. I’ll be checking with my HRT specialist to see about changing my estradiol and progesterone doses.
​I’m cautiously optimistic. I’m also being very gentle with myself as I navigate the Prednisone side effects (hello, restless nights!), but seeing a “normal” face in the mirror today made it worth it.
​To everyone who reached out: Thank you. It reminded me that we shouldn’t have to suffer in silence with “hormonal” skin.
