➡️ 1. Wash your skin ASAP – Use cool water + dish soap or a cleanser like Tecnu to remove the plant oil (urushiol). Do this within 30 minutes if possible.➡️ 2. Rinse under running water – NOT a bath. This helps prevent the oil from spreading.➡️ 3. Clean EVERYTHING that touched it – Clothes, shoes, pet fur, tools, etc. Urushiol can linger for days!➡️ 4. Avoid touching your face/eyes – You can spread the oil around your body.
If a rash shows up later:✅ Use hydrocortisone 1% cream✅ Take antihistamines for itching✅ Apply a Domeboro medicated soak or soothing lotion such as Sarna, calamine or oatmeal lotion
