Dyshidrotic eczema is a form of eczema that primarily occurs on the fingers, hands and feet and is more common in cooler months.
It presents as tiny, very itchy fluid filled bumps or blisters. It is not contagious and is caused by a damaged skin barrier. Limiting hand washing and applying thick emollients like Vaseline or creams several times per day can help heal existing bumps and prevent new ones from forming.
Using fragrance-free products can also help prevent flare ups.
For severe cases, see a dermatologist for prescription treatment.
