✍️ Summary:
Ear infections can be caused by bacterial or viral issues and affect any part of the ear, including the outer ear, eardrums, and inner ear. Common causes include fungi, bacteria, or viruses trapped in the middle or outer part of the ear, which are more common in children. Common triggers include allergies, colds, flu, smoking, swimming at public pools, and type 2 diabetes. Ear discharge is another sign of infection, and children are more susceptible. Apple cider vinegar (ACV) is a popular home remedy due to its antimicrobial properties, killing harmful bacteria and fungi. However, it should not be used as an alternative to medical advice and should be used only for outer ear infections. To use ACV, dilute it with warm water, place five to 10 drops in each ear, cover with cotton or a clean cloth, and repeat as many times as needed until the infection is completely treated. Rubbing alcohol can also be used as a diluting agent, but it should be avoided if drainage or discomfort occur.
