First Sign of HIV in Man



When somebody gets infected with the HIV infection initially, they might not feel anything at all. However some people may experience a flu like illness or a viral fever like illness, the signs and symptoms of which are feeling tired, having a fever. They may have bumps in their throat area, their neck are called as lymph nodes and they have a rash. This is called as the phase of acute HIV infection or primary HIV infection. Thus is followed by a period where they are typically infected and their viruses are multiplying and they feel no symptoms and on examination, they show no signs. This is called as the asymptomatic phase of HIV infection. After many years of unchecked and uncontrolled HIV infections, the immune system begins to falter and this phase is called as AIDS. Some of the symptoms of this phase is unexplained weight loss, on and off fever, they are tired, the presence of lymph nodes whether in the neck or either in the armpit area, or in the inguinal, groin areas. Additionally there could be some skin finding or developing the signs and symptoms of another infection called the tuberculosis. So to summarize, many at times the HIV infections do not have any signs and symptoms. So it is important to test for HIV in a timely manner even in the absence of any signs and symptoms. If there is any concern that one might have been exposed, additionally since HIV infections does not have any signs and symptoms, it would be better to meet your physician and get screened for HIV infection. If you are concerned that your teenage daughter might have been exposed to HIV infection, at the time of birth or subsequently then it is better to meet your physician and get screened for HIV infection.
