Eczema and The Meaning of Sensitivities (Reframing)

When I reached my healing turning point in 2004 (after 15 years of living with eczema and steroid dependency/addiction), I went through an entire life overhaul. I wanted to completely uproot the way I had been living my life, thinking of my skin, and my approach to coping with it. I chose to seek out ways of positively looking at it just to get me by and get me out of a funky rut I had been burying myself into with my depression over it. Perchance, that same year, I had started my minor in Holistic Health at San Francisco State University and learned about the technique of reframing at the perfect time. I don’t see it as dishonest as other skeptics to this technique or positive thinking might. I see it as seeing another truth. Because whatever you choose to believe will become true in your life. If you believe your skin and your life sucks because of eczema and you’re doomed, you are. If you see and believe that your sensitivities are a blessing in disguise and guiding you down a path of purification and longevity faster than it is for others with “normal” skin who aren’t as quickly affected by eating all kinds of junk food and using cosmetics with chemicals and preservatives (which will still accumulate in their body and affect their organs down the line), then that is also true. There are many truths. Which one will you choose?

Thank you for watching and wishing you much healing!
