Stories of people with eczema committing suicide:

One of the greatest gifts living with eczema has given me is the life lesson of letting go. Letting go of expectations, food that doesn’t serve me, of the need to be or look “perfect” to be happy. It has taught me to let go of many obstacles that have been put in my way and that I have put in my own way to accessing happiness and fulfillment now. Society, pop culture, and marketing can be so manipulative and in their messaging and the repetition of being exposed to their messaging, we can become brainwashed to believing that our lives “never truly begin” until we get this or that product, so that we can get to this or that place in life (a career, a partnership, a family, perfect skin, etc.) which only THEN will bring us happiness.

But living with chronic eczema is playing the long-game and I don’t have time to wait for that game to end before feeling “ready” to feel happy. Self-love and self-acceptance is the most powerful weapon we can use against this rat race to happiness.

I say why wait to be happy? Why have all these requirements and things in our way to feel it? We can feel whatever we want whenever we want if we so choose. So, please choose happiness. Please choose love and acceptance of yourself fully, even in your current state. Because unconditional self-love and acceptance is the foundation of unconditional healing power. When we are in this loving state to ourselves, we feel better, which helps us think more clearly, see the truth more sharply, and therefore make better, healthier decisions more effortlessly. Because we’re worth it. Because we believe in ourselves again and are giving ourselves a fighting chance at recovery.

Let go of the obstacles. Let go of the destination. Be low-maintenance about what life is “supposed to be” and about yourself. Simplify the process. Access happiness directly. No middleman. No hoops to jump through. Live NOW.

Thank you for watching and wishing you much healing!
