What is a “controlled buy”? This year I have decided to do a beauty budget. I put $50 per paycheck (26 paychecks per year) into my beauty bank and I have $900 for makeup and $400 for skincare for my beginning of the year budget. I do not have a limit on the number of eyeshadow palettes I bring in, but the purchase amount does come out of my budget.
Haircare is replacement only and does not come out of the budget. Perfumes and beauty tools will come out of the budget. I’m also not allowed to go “into the negative”. If I do not have the funds in the budget, then I have to wait until the funds are there to make the purchase (This is my goal, but Lord help me with limited edition palettes).
Byes/Beauty Empties. I track all of my beauty empties and the past two years I have been able to use up more than $2000 (retail value) of products. I would like to reach that goal again this year.
