Professor Pete Smith – Role of the Allergist in EoE



Eosinophilic oesophagitis (EoE) is a complicated condition that is best managed by a team which can include a gastroenterologist, paediatrician, dietitian and an allergist. In this video, Professor Pete Smith talks about the role of an allergist and what they can do in looking after somebody with eosinophilic oesophagitis both at the clinical level, what’s happening at the research level including epidemiologically and how fantastic stuff can happen when we all work together.

Prof Pete Smith is an allergist based at Southport Queensland and Medical Director of Allergy Medical in Brisbane Queensland. He is a Professor in Clinical Medicine at Griffith University and in Allergy at OPRI in Singapore.
He has published over 100 peer reviewed papers, edited and written chapters in several books and is on several international advisory boards and faculty for food allergy, rhinitis and anaphylaxis.
