What can cause leg pain in children? – Dr. Shaheena Athif

In children during the growing ages, they have certain difficulties like in the sleep time they may have some sharp pain in the limbs. If the child is otherwise active throughout the day and does not have any associated illnesses like fever or any other limb pain during the day or if their activity is not restricted or ant swelling on ta particular limb. It is mostly due to growth pain. Growth pain is usually seen from 3 years to 10 years of age. This is seen in most boys and girls, they have this type of pain and no need for any major treatment for this. Only proper hydration for the child. If any day if they had excessive activities, this is the night when they will have more of these pains. So just symptomatic treatments or hot fermentations or massaging of the legs is only required. And only if the child is having any other systemic symptoms like fever or any swelling or redness of the limb, then it has to be assessed and it has to be taken care of.
