Last month, since I’m continuing to avoid driving during my solo travels, I decided to take a bunch of shorter trips to different parts of the South Island of New Zealand instead of spending months exploring every nook and cranny of one city like I had in the North Island. Which means, I have a bit of catching up to do with my Traveling With Eczema videos as I had bounced to a few cities within a matter of weeks in September.
Today, I share my insights on traveling to the Christchurch and Amberley areas of the South Island during their winter season. It was kind of brutal as winters tend to be dry and cold and combining that with my dry skin was not a winning combo. But, the nice thing that I forgot to mention in my video was that it was at this point after leaving Melbourne, Australia that my body temperature was starting to re-regulate itself to its former threshold before I left the States in December of 2017 to embark on my South Pacific exploration and adventures. Finally, after over 6 months of dealing with candida and overheating from Fiji in February 2018, I was starting to be able to feel the cold again! And my candida rashes had cleared up for the most part. The cold, dry weather was no longer relieving, but now a source of discomfort. But that was my “normal” reaction before 3 weeks in Fiji, so in a twisted way I was happy. Plus, I had been chasing the cold for half a year, so it was about time my body got relieved from its pathogenic state of being aggravated by hot, humid weather, which was usually the sort of climate I chased for relief. Now, I’m returning to where I began nearly a year ago and it feels good. Looking forward to booking some trips to some more tropical places and enjoying them soon!
Thank you for watching and wishing you all much healing!
