Get Nerdy About Healing! (Recommended Reading For People With Eczema For Long-Term Healing)

Welcome to another video about transforming the way we live with eczema! I believe that a big part of the suffering of eczema, especially in the beginning, is the mystery of it all. How does it start? Why? What will trigger it? What will heat it?

There is just starting to be a movement of education and awareness around the power of lifestyle. mind-set and food on healing eczema.

What really helped to empower to take my healing by the balls and see results is education. I figured if all the Western dermatologists I was seeing knew how to do was be product pushers and encourage a life-long drug addiction to steroids (which lasted 15 years before I wised up and got off them cold-turkey), then in order for me to find an actually healthy way to heal, I had to learn what they didn’t in medical school.

Often in my experience, it is the simple things done consistently over time with a commitment to my healing and well-being that make the most difference. There are no miracle cures or short cuts here. It’s simply living a healthy lifestyle, eating quality food full of fruit and especially veggies, regular physical movement, and meditation for visualization of goals and peace of mind.

I learned all of this through reading lots and lots of books and articles in print and online. And I continue to read because as I grow older, I find that my skin evolves over time and under different circumstances and environments. So long as I stay nerdy and curious to find the answer to why my skin gets better or worse, I find that I’m always able to find multiple ways to make it better.

Never underestimate the importance of reading. Care about spelling, grammar, and syntax. Understand what you’re reading. Think about it. Talk about it with others. Do whatever it takes to permanently imprint healing information in your long-term memory, so you’ll always have an ace in your backpocket when you need it.

Having said all of that, here are some books that I absolutely love and reference back to often when I’m feeling off balance or get a new flareup and need a reminder of how to approach it each time around. Enjoy!
