Sweat is a common trigger for people with eczema, especially for children

“Sweat is a common trigger for people with eczema, especially for children.”

The combination of heat and sweat during playtime may worsen the conditions, making playtime arrangement a regular struggle when in fact, children with eczema can still enjoy playtime just like any other children.

For parents who were also once children themselves, we know how important playtime is for children and therefore shouldn’t restrict it. At times of desperation, we may try to minimize the trigger by cutting down on the playtime sessions. But for children with eczema, the good intentions may not be well reciprocated.

What happened to the little boy and his mom in this video could happen to other children with eczema as well. Thankfully, there are preventive steps we can take to ensure that our child has a comfortable playtime environment. Let’s find out what Dr Nirmala has to say.

In conjunction with Eczema Awareness month in October, we are also running “My Child Has Eczema” Share & Win Giveaway (1 Oct until 18 Nov). All you need to do is to share childhood eczema facts with us!

We would also like to thank Dr Nirmala, Paediatric Dermatologist for helping us in our quest to raise awareness toward understanding childhood eczema a little better!
