I have grown up with eczema my entire life.
In December 2021, I was placed on an experimental drug called Upadacitinib/Rinvoq, which is a major breakthrough in eczema treatment. The drug became FDA approved in early 2022.
Rinvoq worked AMAZINGLY well for me for about 6 months, but unfortunately has become ineffective and I had to stop taking it in August 2022.
My dermatologist has since put me on Dupilumab/Dupixent, which is another breakthrough in eczema treatment that was FDA approved roughly a year earlier than Rinvoq. However, instead of a daily pill, this is an injection that you have to self administer every two weeks.
This video documents my experience with Rinvoq including the side effects I experienced. I also talk about my future treatment with Dupixent and the side effects that my dermatologist told me to expect. I also administer my first two Dupixent shots.
