How to Soothe Scalp Itch and Remove Scalp Psoriasis Flakes Without Scratching or Picking the Scalp

Here’s a hair hack that can make a drastic difference for your scalp condition! STOP SCRATCHING & try this instead….

PRODUCTS USED:

-Sulfur 8 Scalp Therapy Medicated Dandruff Control Leave-In Soothing Treatment ($11.00 from local BSS)
-Sulfur 8 Anti-Dandruff hair & Scalp Conditioner ($8.00 from local BSS)

SILK PRESS BY: Nneka

Both Sulfur 8 products contain 3% salicylic acid as the active ingredient which helps relieve scalp itching, irritation, scaling and flaking caused by dandruff, seborrheic dermatitis and psoriasis. The soothing treatment also contains menthol, so it also has cooling sensation upon application that perfectly soothes any itching. The Scalp conditioner has the consistency of hair grease, and it helps soothe the irritation leaving a nice tingly, cooling sensation on the scalp as well.

Over the course of my flare-up these two products have helped so much with controlling itch thereby minimizing flakes.

I apply the products to the specific areas on my scalp where there are excessive flakes and/or itching, and massage it in with my fingers. The soothing treatment does a really good job of lifting the flakes from the scalp, but then the flakes end up getting into your hair. So if you’re braided up or in a specific style, you have to be a bit more careful when remove the flakes to avoid ruining the neatness of your hairstyle. Of course, the removal process is easier when your hair is out because you’re able to comb out the flakes.

Once again, I am going in Sulfur 8 Scalp Therapy Soothing Treatment, and I apply it specifically to the flaky, irritated patches on my scalp. Massage it in, and then I comb the lifted flakes out of my hair. The soothing treatment is a clear liquid, same consistency as water, and it dries down quickly which, while soothing the itch and irritation, can leave the scalp dry after a while, so you can definitely follow up with an oil to keep moisture in the scalp.

PRO TIP – I suggest pouring some of the scalp therapy soothing treatment into a mini spray bottle to carry with you on the go to soothe any random itches you get throughout the day.
