It’s finally my injection training day! We have a nurse coming to our house today to instruct me on the use of the new self-injection pens. Theoretically, Izzy, my daughter is supposed to inject herself with them, but she’s not ready to take that leap yet, so I’ve volunteered to do it for now. It’s a new anti-inflammatory drug called Dupilimab /Dupixent to control her severe, chronic eczema that will replace the one she’s been on (Methotrexate) which did a great job of controlling her eczema, but has been causing her nausea and vomiting. We’re hoping that today will be the start of a bright new chapter for us if things go well.
