Why Wash?
1. Moisturize
2. Clean wounds, which is literally covering your whole body if you have severe eczema.
3. Wash off dead skin that can cause irritation, dirt, dust, chemicals, and sweat that could be irritating the eczema.
4. Wash and kill germs and bacteria that’s infecting your skin and triggering more inflammations, itching, peeling.

Custom Soak and Seal Method
The “Soak and Seal” method of treating eczema is recommended by many providers to combat dry skin and reduce flares. To get the full therapeutic benefit, Soak and Seal often and follow these steps in order.

Instructions to Soak and Seal:
1. Take a bath using lukewarm (not hot) water for at least 40 minutes (not 5-10). Use a gentle cleanser (no soaps) and avoid scrubbing the affected skin.
* SALT
If you’re experiencing a severe flare, bathing may cause your skin to sting. Adding one cup of table salt to your bath water can help ease this symptom.
* BLEACH (AVOID FACE – NECK DOWN)
A mild bleach and water solution is thought to decrease inflammation and the amount of bacteria on the skin, which can lead to skin infections. Add 1/4 cup (about 59 milliliters) to 1/2 cup (about 118 milliliters) of bleach to a 40-gallon (about 151-liter) bathtub filled with warm water.
* ROBATHOL OIL
A fragrance-free cottonseed oil based bath oil that soothes, lubricates and moisturizes dry, chapped skin when used in the bath or shower. Helps maintain the skin’s normal condition by supplementing the protective action of skin oils.
2. After bathing, pat the skin lightly with a towel leaving it slightly damp.
3. Apply prescription topical medication to the affected areas of skin as directed.
4. Within three minutes, liberally apply a moisturizer all over the body. It’s important to apply the moisturizer within three minutes or the skin may become even drier.
5. Wait a few minutes to let the moisturizer absorb into the skin before dressing or applying wet wraps.

Bath better than Shower
* Soak longer to suck up moisture. Shower water just flows across the top of skin and doesn’t get in
* Be able to apply salt, bleach, and robathol oil
