Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, more simply known as lupus, is a complex autoimmune disease where a hyperactive immune system attacks healthy tissue, resulting in inflammation, joint damage, swelling, and other symptoms. The presence of autoantibodies is found in nearly all people with lupus. Consequently, this disease affects the whole body, with damage occurring in numerous organs, including the kidneys, central nervous system, skin, joints, and blood cell production system.
The reason for the development of lupus in people is unknown; however, data from the literature suggests that the expression of this disease in predisposed people is the result of hormonal, nutritional, and environmental factors that lead to impaired immune responses.
Change in dietary habits can reduce the consequences of this disease and the consequences of medications, as well as reduce potential risk factors, and increase the period of remission because of the effects of a person’s diet on fat and glucose metabolism, oxidative stress, and the microbiome.
In my recent video: “Treating Lupus with Diet and Supplements,” I talk about the natural ways to manage lupus and prevent flare-ups with nutrition.
It would be great if you would share this video with friends and family who may need this information.
