Atopic dermatitis, it is a kind of dermatitis or dermaitis is also known as eczema. Atopic dermatitis is usually , there are stages in that, it maybe infantile, atopic dermatitis or adult atopic dermatitis . Atopic dermatitis is usually seen in people who are more prone for atopy. Atopy means allergy. There maybe allergic tendency or family history of atopy maybe there or from infantile stage, it maybe seen. Infantile atopic dermatitis usually lasts upto 2years of age. Then, the kid may enter into childhood atopic dermatitis between 2 to 8 years of age. Then, they may enter into adult type of atopic dermatitis. So, usually in the infantile type there maybe dryness of the cheeks is usually noticed.. Then, coming to the next part, it will be the lesions, itchy dry lesions maybe seen in the flexures that is either the cubital fossa, or the popliteal fossa. The, they may turn into adult atopic dermatitis, like dryness and eczematous patches maybe seen elsewhere, like hands , feet as where . So, this is the nature of atopic dermatitts . So, basically in atopic dermatitis, you should prevent the dryness to prevent itch. So, there is itch-scratch cycle in dermatitis. So to prevent that you must consult dermatologist and get proper medications so that you should keep your skin moisturized throughout.
